• Sepsis Specialist Nurse

Bio:

In 2010 was the only sepsis nurse in the UK. It was quite a challenging and daunting role, especially being not only new to the organisation, but also relatively new to the NHS. Within my professional role, I am continually exposed to the devastating effects of sepsis, it is a huge challenge not only locally, but nationally and internationally. When Paul Drew contacted me to start the UKSPF, it was reassuring and refreshing to finally have some other people to share my experiences with and consult with for advice. I have now been in my role for 8 years and still have the same enthusiasm and immense pride in the role as when I started. I was honoured to chair the UKSPF for three years and contribute to its development and growth. I am equally happy now to sit back and let others flourish, to stay in the background and help if needed. The UKSPF is fast becoming a recognised credited group and it makes me so proud to be a part of it.
