Sepsis Data

Posted by - 20-07-2021, 12:41

Hi all,

I have recently taken over as a sepsis specialist nurse, although our hospital has now merged with another who does not have this role. I am looking at ways I can collate data so that I then have time to provide clinical support consistently. Can anyone provide examples of how you do this within your Trust? I currently manually collect a daily list from Eobs of patients scoring a NEWS2 of 5, and for ED patients I receive a list of all infection codes and manually look through this. Our sister hospital does not collect the information manually, and we somehow need to start providing data as a Trust.
If anyone is happy for me to contact them, that would be great. I am new to the role and due to COVID restrictions did not have much handover time.

THANK YOU!

    Hi,
Do you use electronic prescribing ? We found this a good way to pull a report and allowed us to identify those who started on ivab depending on clinical indicator.
We also run report from the obs triggers to.
More than happy to discuss through, we are 5 years in and have modified slightly each year.
    Thanks
